The Pilates Grove is a movement-based fitness and conditioning studio promoting total body awareness by encouraging advancement beyond one's own physical limitations through the creation of customized Pilates programs, defined between teacher and student.

 

The Pilates Method

Joseph Pilates, a pioneer in physical therapy, developed the Pilates method in the 1920's. The program is a total body conditioning method which can be performed by athlete and non-athlete alike. It honors movement through flexibility, strength, and endurance training. The dual emphasis is on movement awareness and efficient body mechanics as key to realigning the musculature and improving posture, alignment, balance and breath.

The Fletcher Work™
The Fletcher Work™ is a development of the Pilates method by Ron Fletcher, one of Pilates' original Master Teachers. Mr. Fletcher incorporated his modern dance background in combination with his training with Joe and Clara Pilates to further develop the body, mind, breath, spirit connection. While staying true to Pilates' origins, Ron Fletcher introduced innovative floor work, towel work and breathing techniques, creating an even more comprehensive movement experience.
