Respect for individual needs allows for the tailoring of each session for individual clients in order to maximize the benefits of the movement experience.

The Pilates Grove is dedicated to all levels of fitness. Through participation in our movement program, you will develop strength, increase your flexibility, gain better balance, increase your range of motion, and most importantly gain a heightened level of body awareness and respect for your temple. As our studio commitments demonstrate and our mantra prompts, the Pilates Grove is the environment which allows our clients to begin their personal journey on their unique paths to personal and physical transformation.

It is our mission to provide to our clients with a new method to movement with a deep respect and commitment to the individual, providing a level of lifestyle balance that serves to nourish the mind, body, and spirit.

Christian Foster, Studio Director

Christian is a Maryland transplant  to the Huachuca area who received her Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from California State University-Northridge in the Spring of 2004.  The Army brought Christian and her husband, Captain Matthew Foster to the area the very same year.  She tried her hand at the corporate world for nearly 3 years as an Administrative Manager for Northop Grumman and decided that she needed a better creative outlet to pour her talents into.  Thus the birth of the Pilates Grove!

Christian immersed herself with the Ron Fletcher Program of Study over the last 2 years and has participated in numerous specialized conferences focusing on special populations conditioning to include moving with osteoporosis and pre-post natal fitness.  She is an active member of the Pilates Method Alliance, the professional organization for Pilates teachers.  She is actively pursuing certification as an Holistic Health Practicioner and Nutritional Counselor.  Her studio has recently been featured in the Sierra Vista Herald.

With the support of friends and family, Christian combined her love of movement, the outdoors, and green living to create a program of offerings in Sierra Vista for those who crave a holistic living outlet and are seeking to learn balance between work and life.

Marla D. Pelletier, CYT, RYT

Marla D. PelletierMarla has traveled throughout the world improving her practice and knowledge of yoga. In Rochester, NY, she used yoga to counter the effect of long hours at the computer in her corporate job. In Bangkok, while teaching English to 13 & 14 year olds she used yoga to calm and focus her talkative students. She believes that yoga is accessible to every body, to every age, and to every kind of person. In Thailand she studied the healing arts of Shamballa Reiki, Thai Massage and Crystal Therapy. Marla has also been trained in Integrated Energy Therapy.

While studying Raja & Hatha Yoga in India she is grateful to have been trained by Bharath Shetty at Yoga India in Mysore, by the Sivananda Institute in Kerala, and to have practiced Yoga in Action in Rishikesh. Every year she travels around the country increasing her toolbox. The trainings she takes each year are a response to the needs of her students. In 2008 she took an anatomy of shoulders and hips training with Suzi Aldous Hately. This year, in 2009, she will be participating in a teacher training with Amy Weintraub learning how yoga can heal depression & anxiety.

Marla is a compassionate teacher that allows you space to be who you are. To Marla, yoga is about acceptance of where we are as constant students in this moment. It is in the present moment that we can enact the greatest amount of change knowing that we are always evolving.
Class often ends with Marla's soothing voice leading students into a deep relaxation, Yoga Nidra. Yoga Nidra allows the deeper energetic integration of the practice of yoga, or union, between the self, the body, and the world.
