DESCRIPTIONS

Movement Basics

A requisite for those new to the studio.  This class is designed to introduce the principles of Pilates to include standing and centering, defining the “core”, breath technique, and other movement fundamentals.  Additionally, this class provides a solid foundation for understanding the Mat I “Basic 10” exercises.

 

Private/Semi-Private Sessions

Provides the optimal setting to learn the Pilates Method and body awareness.  Individualized programs are created for clients depending upon the needs and goals of the student.  Note:  Semi-Privates are limited to use of smaller equipment and participants must have completed 3 Private sessions each prior to enrollment in Semi-Private sessions or series.  Please see Fee Schedule for costs associated with Private and Semi-Private sessions.

 

Mat I/II & Props

Tones and strengthens the body while improving body alignment with a solid foundation of the “Basic 10” Pilates Mat exercises. Small equipment is used to supplement Mat work. Note: Class pace and challenge level is determined by the instructor’s assessment of group ability.  Prerequisite:  Movement Basics class.

 

Pilates On the Ball

Whoever thought that by bouncing on a ball that you could learn to improve your core muscle strength and flexibility?  This class incorporates the principles of balance, coordination, body awareness, and breathwork for a Pilates experience that is both challenging and fun! Prerequisite:  Movement Basics class.

 

Fletcher Barrel 

Through assisted back bends and supported abdominal exercises, this class will help you develop greater spinal flexibility and abdominal control as well as improve overall body tone and ease of movement.

Prerequisite:  Movement Basics class.

 

Fletcher Floorwork 

A comprehensive movement experience incorporating the innovative Fletcher Towelwork, percussive breath technique and Fletcher Floorwork developed by Pilates Master Ron Fletcher.  This class emphasizes the connection between body, mind, breath, and spirit.

Prerequisite:  Movement Basics class.

 

Hatha Yoga 

A yoga practice that is appropriate for all levels.  Gentle postures are held for several minutes using blankets, bolsters, and blocks.  The pace of the class is meditative which leads to a deep state of relaxation.

Dynamic Yoga 

This is a contemporary expression of a classic Hatha Yoga practice.  The method combines precise alignment with the flow and postures of Bikram Yoga.

CLASS NOTES:

  • Mat classes limited to 10 people.  Ball class limited to 5 people.  Class limits ensure optimal level of instructor coverage to maintain safety of participants and preservation of quality instruction.
  • Group Classes require (at the very least) 2 person minimum to be held.  If attendees are insufficient for a class to be held, clients who have signed up for the class will be early cancelled in the system and eligible to participate in another class. 
  • Semi-Private participants must have completed 3 Private sessions each prior to enrollment in Semi-Private sessions or series.
  • Please wear comfortable, yet fitted clothing to your session.
  • We work in bare feet!

                                           

 

 SCEDULING POLICY

  • Pre-registration is required to ensure space in classes.  We can only guarantee space availability in classes booked in advance either online or by phone with the Studio Manager.  Walk-ins will only be accomodated when space is available. 
  • Classes and sessions are based on a professional hour.
  • Series packages are to be completed within 90 days of date of purchase.
  • Series packages are non-refundable and non-transferable.
  • Cancellation must be received by voice-mail or in person by 10AM one day prior to your scheduled session. Failure to cancel will result in being charged for that session.
